Cheb gives a presentation in Nuremberg

Marcela Brabačová, representing the Historic Cheb Endowment Fund, spoke about the town’s unique complex of historic roof trusses.

During a panel discussion marking the 100th anniversary of our independent republic, which took place on October 10, 2018 in Nuremberg’s further education centre, the town of Cheb once again had the opportunity to showcase its treasured heritage. Marcela Brabačová, representing the Historic Cheb Endowment Fund, spoke about the town’s unique complex of historic roof trusses.

With participants including Kristina Larischová, Consul-General of the Czech Republic in Munich, the invited guests discussed their life experiences and how they have mirrored the country’s fortunes. They also talked about their work, which often takes them across the Czech-German border.

Among the other guests were the actress, pedagogue and director Alexandra Myšková from Oslo, born on April 4, 1922, who personally met our first president; Daniel Nevařil from Nuremberg’s Department of International Relations; Alena Hrůšová, pedagogue and translator from Pilsen; and baritone opera singer Martin Bárta. The splendid and well-attended event was organised by the Prague-Nuremberg Friendship Association, whose representatives Dr. Iva Thiel and Christof Neidiger co-chaired the meeting.
